安全保障研究、国際関係理論、外交史、比較政治学等を専門とする政治学者。リアリズムの理論的刷新を軸に、戦争、外交およびインド太平洋の国際関係を研究しています。また、日本における進化政治学（Evolutionary Political Science）のパイオニアとして、進化心理学・脳科学の知見を国際関係理論に導入し、自然科学と社会科学の統合を推進。International Affairs、International Relations 等の世界的SSCI収録誌に独自の理論枠組みを発表し、単著3冊・編著2冊を刊行しています。
Political scientist specializing in security studies, international relations theory, diplomatic history, and comparative politics. Research centers on the theoretical renewal of realism, with a focus on war, diplomacy, and international relations in the Indo-Pacific. リアリズムの理論的刷新を軸に、大国間政治・外交・安全保障秩序に関する独自の理論枠組みを提唱しています。また、日本における進化政治学のパイオニアとして、進化心理学・脳科学と国際関係理論を架橋し、自然科学と社会科学の統合を推進。International Affairs（Chatham House）、International Relations（SAGE）などSSCI収録の世界的ジャーナルに複数の単著論文を発表し、単著3冊・編著2冊を刊行。理論的貢献と実証分析の双方において、日本から国際学界の最前線への発信を続けています。
Proposing original theoretical frameworks on great power politics, diplomacy, and security order through the theoretical renewal of realism. Also a pioneer of Evolutionary Political Science in Japan, bridging evolutionary psychology, neuroscience, and IR theory to advance the integration of natural and social sciences. Published sole-authored articles in world-leading SSCI-indexed journals including International Affairs (Chatham House) and International Relations (SAGE), alongside three sole-authored monographs and two edited volumes.
